Very impressed that I’m able to find a metal controller. It looks even more impressive in person. Feels great in hand.

After getting acquainted with this controller, I found it’s only partially metal. The control sticks are an adapted taste, and can be annoying at first. The sticks are able to be swapped out to rubber sticks, which is a nice feature.

The build quality will annoy a perfectionist. The water drop logo on the control stick is misaligned, and the labels on the buttons aren’t aligned very well to the center. The back portion of this case had its chrome coating peel off after a couple months. Doesn’t seem to adhere to the surface very well.

Then there’s the software and/or the internal hardware. The controller drops connection the longer it is used, and will drop it more frequently as time passes. The PB Tails button needs to be pressed to reconnect. Very frustrating. This controller would be unusable with multiplayer games.

Given my experience with this controller, I’d go with a different brand. The metal cover and removable sticks are great features, and would certainly be a novelty to show to friends. However, they’re not good enough for me to overlook the other glaring problems with this controller. I hope PB Tails will improve this controller, because I cannot find anything out there quite like it.

I had been searching everywhere for a silver controller and first discovered PB Tails through the Ghost Silver edition — sadly it was sold out. Luckily, they released the new Metal Crush Chromeposite Mirror TMR, and I instantly bought it. The result did not disappoint — I’m really satisfied with the color, the texture, and the overall quality. Everything works perfectly and feels premium in hand, with no issues at all. One small suggestion: if the box and packaging also had the same chrome finish as the controller, it would make the experience even more special — I’d even pay extra for that. And if PB Tails ever sells another silver edition (especially if they re-release the Metal Crush Ghost Silver), I’d buy it without hesitation
