What is a TMR Joystick?
On June 18, 2024, PB Tails proudly launched the world's first gaming controller equipped with TMR joysticks—the Crush Defender Battle-Damaged Edition.
Co-developers: PB Tails and K-Silver
The TMR joystick is the result of a two-year intensive collaboration between PB Tails and K-Silver. Recognizing some of the shortcomings of conventional Hall effect joysticks, our teams worked tirelessly to innovate and overcome these challenges. By leveraging the strengths of both companies—PB Tails' extensive experience in gaming peripherals and K-Silver's advanced sensor technology—we have created a joystick that offers unparalleled precision and performance.
The Science Behind TMR Technology
TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) technology was pioneered by Nobel Prize winners Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg in 1988, who discovered the Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) effect. Initially applied in magnetic sensors and data storage devices, TMR technology has now been adapted for gaming controllers. This adaptation addresses the limitations of Hall effect joysticks, offering improved performance and reliability.
By integrating TMR technology into our joysticks, We invite gamers everywhere to experience the transformative power of TMR joysticks and discover a new standard in game control.
