The PB TAILS CRUSH series "Zero-Drift" Calibration Guide

The PB TAILS CRUSH series "Zero-Drift" Calibration Guide

Because precision is a science, not an accident.

If your sticks feel slightly off-center, or you've just unboxed your new CRUSH controller, follow this quick calibration process to ensure your TMR joysticks perform at peak precision.

Step 1: Keep Your CRUSH Powered Off

Make sure the controller is fully powered off.

If any lights are on, press the pairing button (located on the left side of the charging port) to turn the controller off.

Place the controller on a flat surface and do not touch the joysticks yet.

Step 2: Enter Calibration Mode — The "Magic Combo"

While the controller is still powered off:

Press and hold the Home button + T button simultaneously
until the white indicator light begins flashing.

This means the controller has entered calibration mode.

Step 3: Teach the Controller Its Full Range

Slowly rotate both joysticks in a full 360° circular motion
for about 7–8 complete rotations.

Make sure the controller remains resting on a flat surface during this process.

Why this matters:
This allows the onboard chip to precisely record the joystick’s maximum physical range and true center point.

Step 4: Lock in the Calibration

Press the Home button once.

The red and blue lights will flash, confirming that the joystick calibration is complete.

Your CRUSH controller is now perfectly centered and ready to play.

Pro Tip

We recommend recalibrating your joysticks:

  • After any major firmware update

  • When switching between Nintendo Switch and PC

  • If the sticks ever feel slightly off-center

This ensures the polling rate and input precision remain perfectly synced.

Q: Will calibration fix joystick drift?
Calibration can correct minor center offsets caused by transport or environmental changes. However, CRUSH controllers use TMR joysticks, which are inherently resistant to traditional drift issues.

Q: How often should I recalibrate?
Most users rarely need to recalibrate. Once after unboxing is usually enough.

Unlike traditional potentiometer joysticks, PB TAILS CRUSH controllers use TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) sensors, which significantly reduce mechanical wear and long-term drift.
