What is TMR, and why does it matter?

TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) is the next evolution of joystick sensing—surpassing even Hall Effect technology.

Instead of relying on voltage changes, TMR detects movement through magnetic resistance, resulting in a controller that feels more precise, more responsive, and more reliable over time.

What this means for players:
• Ultra-fine control – Higher sensitivity and resolution make micro-aiming and subtle movements feel effortless.
• Better battery efficiency – TMR consumes far less power, keeping your controller alive longer between charges.

How does TMR compare to Hall Effect joysticks?

While both technologies are designed to be drift-resistant, TMR is the enthusiast-level evolution.

Hall Effect sensors can introduce signal noise and draw more power over time. TMR, on the other hand, produces a cleaner signal with a higher signal-to-noise ratio—translating into a snappier, more responsive feel that competitive and professional players tend to prefer.


Does my PB TAILS CRUSH controller support a 1000Hz polling rate?

• In wired mode: switch the controller to X mode, then connect the controller to the console/PC with a cable. In this case, the polling rate will be 1000Hz.
• In 2.4G dongle (receiver) mode: switch the controller to S mode, then connect it to the console/PC via the 2.4G receiver.
When the controller is recognized by the system as an XBox controller, it means the polling rate is 1000Hz.
If it is recognized as a Pro Controller or a generic Gamepad, the polling rate is only 125Hz.
In that case, please follow the instructions in the user manual: while in 2.4G mode, press and hold the “+” button and “–” button on the controller at the same time for 3 seconds to switch the controller mode. Keep switching until the system recognizes it as an Xbox controller.
Once it is recognized as an Xbox controller, you can be sure that you are using a 1000Hz polling rate.

What size is the controller?

The controller is 4.72in x 3.15in x 0.91in (11.99cm x 8cm x 2.31cm). 


Which devices are the CHOC controllers compatible with?

Compatibility varies between CHOC models. Please check the product page and user manual for your specific CHOC 1.0 or CHOC 2.0 controller before purchasing or pairing. On mobile devices, the game must also support external controllers.

How do I pair the controller with my Android device?

Here is a short video on our product page showing you how to connect the controller to Android. 

Step 1.

Press the pairing button and Y button together.
The indicator lights 2 and 3 (two middle lights) found on the bottom of the controller will start to blink. This means Bluetooth has been activated.

Step 2. Go to Phone: Settings > Bluetooth devices and find "Gamepad". Click this option to connect your controller to your gaming device. 


Step 3. When the indicators stop blinking, your controller is connected and ready to go.

How do I pair the controller with my iOS device?

Here is a short video on our product page showing you how to connect the controller to iOS.

Step 1. Press the pairing button and X button together. The indicator lights 1 and 4 on the bottom of the controller will start blinking. This means Bluetooth has been activated.

Step 2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth devices and find "Xbox Wireless Controller". Choose this option to connect the controller to your device.

Step 3. When the indicators stop blinking, your controller is connected and ready to go. 

During pairing, your device may display the name “Xbox Wireless Controller.” This is the name shown by the system when identifying the controller; the product you are connecting is a PB TAILS controller. This name does not indicate compatibility with Xbox consoles.

How can we check how much battery power is remaining in the controller?

It cannot be viewed directly. It can only be viewed in the NS when connected to the NS; it cannot be viewed on the computer.
